About the New Ford Explorer

Ford has redesigned the Explorer for 2020 with an all-new look and re-engineered performance. It all comes together to make one of the most dynamic and capable SUVs available from Ford today. Whether you need three-row convenience, spacious comfort, or compelling performance, you'll find it in the new Explorer.

Design

The latest Explorer maximizes both comfort and utility in a versatile, handsome space. For starters, all new Explorer models offer three rows of seats standard with room for up to six or seven passengers, depending on configuration. Need to throw in some bulky items? The rear space can quickly convert to cargo duty with split folding seats in the second and third row. With all of the rear seats down, the new Explorer has 87.8 cubic feet of cargo space.

That practicality is balanced out by a wide range of available creature comforts. Seating throughout is substantially bolstered to provide support for all seven passengers. Available automatic climate control can autonomously manage the temperature inside the cabin. For better views and fresh air, drivers can opt in for an available twin-panel moonroof. The all-new Explorer is even available with a 10.1-inch touchscreen display.

Performance

The Ford Explorer is a formidable performer with a versatile set of tools at drivers' disposal. For one, the new Explorer now offers standard rear-wheel drive -- a configuration that's better suited for towing and offers better overall handling than front-wheel drive. Heading off road? The available Intelligent 4WD system with Terrain Management can help you along. The new Explorer also comes standard with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine making 300 horsepower. The available hybrid powertrain offers exceptional city fuel economy while boosting power and towing capacity. Finally, the new Explorer ST generates 400 horsepower via a 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 engine.

Technology

A wide variety of technology features are available for the new 2020 Explorer. These SUVs come standard with SYNC 3 -- an infotainment system that brings together Bluetooth, touchscreen navigation, voice commands, and much more. Additionally, FordPass Connect can equip the Explorer with a built-in Wi-Fi network.

But it doesn't stop there. The new Explorer also offers the Ford Co-Pilot360 package. This suite of active safety technologies brings features like Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Information System, and Lane Keeping System to the table.

The new Explorer even makes city parking easier with help from available Active Park Assist 2.0. This feature will automatically guide your Explorer into a parallel parking spot. You'll be parked and ready to move on in no time.
